Tackle it Tuesday 5 (I think)

OK so here it is. The infamous Christmas tree. Yes it was still up until yesterday. I tackled it!!!! It's our first year we have had a Christmas tree. We have been married for four years but the first three we were in small apartments and didn't have a tree. We moved into our first house last January which came with an artificial one! So needless to say It was a pretty boring looking tree Here's the tree all undecorated. And finally it's all gone...or as my son said when he saw it "Dall Din" Note: It is sitting there on the floor in pieces. My husband had to study for a mid-term which he is taking right now as we speak so he will bring down the box from the attic tonight when he gets back from classes.

X-rated Libraries.

No I am not joking. Here in upstate new York a wonderful thing was proposed in our county. The Libraries here are having a terrible time with Pornography.Why such a problem you may ask. It's plain and simple...free internet access! Well one of our county controllers made the statement that if the Libraries didn't do something about it, the county was going to pull their funding......in our county that means MILLIONS of dollars. What a great move in the right direction.. I agree totally however, enter the ACLU. They are threatening lawsuits because what our county is trying to do (Protect our children) has already been decided by the Supreme court in a similar case. In other words our county can't do anything about porn in the libraries because of a previous ruling on porn in Libraries. How disheartening as a Christian Parent that I have no say in this other than not letting my children go to the public library. How twisted. The government wants our children to become readers and yet they let porn go into our public libraries. I think it's time we start buying more books. Yeah they are expensive but in the long run the cost is priceless to keep our children from accidentally seeing something they shouldn't!!! My brother-in-law's blog is having an interesting discussion on the weakness of women/strength of women who stay with husbands who continually are unfaithful in their marriages. What do you think. I love Games.

I love to play games. it's one of my favorite things to do. My husband was quite alarmed at the size of my game collection when we got married. (He didn't appreciate them nearly as much as I did!) Needless to say our game collecion has grown quite a bit since we were married almost 4 years ago. He actually enjoys playing now and that makes me very happy. Tackle-It Tuesday #4

My corner cupboards are such a wreck!! They are oddly shaped and when I am in a hurry I just toos things in. So this is my tackle it Tuesday for this week, One corner cupboard and the dry bulk foods cupboard. And to think I got it done before nap time. Cool!! It feels really good to achieve the rest of my tasks for the day!!

What a day!

My day started out so great. I got up at 4 or 4:15...that's part of why it was so good, sounds kinda sick to me but It was a good thing.. I got my devos done by 6:00 and my cards organized by 6:30. I was ready to hit the ground running. the kids don't get up until 8, so I took the time to add a desired page to my website. I will provide a link here and a link on my sidebar. As planned the kids got up at 8 and I went to get them. I got tornado and fed him his breakfast while I went to get ladybug. They both ate like troopers and during that time I got like 1/2 my cards done..and I have 43 cards to do for the day. I'll explain the cards in a minute. Anyway I took the kids up staiis for diaper changes because we discovered not long ago that both kids like to poop during breakfast. I changed diapers and clothes then tornado wanted a story. than two than three until we read five or six books. my tongue was tired because they were mostly Dr. Suess. So I took lady bug to my room so I could do some straightening of a mess leftover from when we did our rearranging this last weekend. No sooner did I leave Tornado started wailing and screaming and throwing things down the steps. this went on for 15 minutes, however I reached the end of my rope when ladybug started to cry cause it was her nap time! so I quickly told tornado that it was either calm down or it was going to be early nap time. He didn't like either option and began to throw an even bigger tantrum(You know the kind that has arms flailing and legs kicking so I scooped him up place him in bed, disciplined him and closed the door. That was at 10:30 they are both sound asleep and I feel a lot better not that I just vented!!

Wordless Wednesday #3

It's not the greatest picture I know and you probably think it's a picture of Christmas. Nope I took this picture literally 2 1/2 minutes ago. It's Valentine's day and our Christmas tree is still up.. I wonder should this be my next tackle it Tuesday? I need hubby's help getting stuff out of the attic first and then it's time to tackle.

Tackle it Tuesday #3

What a week so far and it's only Tuesday. Arg. I have a million things to do and Tornado has lived up to his nickname (Oh yeah I guess that's why we gave it to him) Any way. Hubby's valentines day gift isn't ready at all. I will post pictures of it on Thursday. Our upstairs is a complete disaster because we had to rearrange furniture again. Ladybug has officially moved to the crib and I just can't seem to get a grip. Poor Tornado has been yelled at so many times today but I have been really frustrated.!! Oh well see you tomorrow for wordless Wednesday

Tackle it Tuesday #2

Well here it is My second Tackle it Tuesday, I have to say I am quite dismayed to put the first two pictures on my blog. I can't ever seem to get a hold of the dishes problem They Truly area nemesis of mine and I long to tackle it for good. However I just can't seem to stop dirtying dishes. I guess that would mean either starving or going broke. But the second two pictures are the finished product and can I say I am whooped. Special thanks goes out to my two tots who were great little people today. I don;t know how many times I have started a load of dishes and have to run off and take care of semi-major disasters (Ie bumped noggins and the like.) Well I must close this post and do my wordless Wednesday cause I won't get the chance tomorrow.

Hellllloooo Winter.

Finally winter has reared it's cold little self and made life in the northeast a little (Ok a lot) uncomfortable. As a weatherman here says "It's a snuggle with your sweetie night." And boy is it. It has been a grand total of 6 degrees here today. And that's not counting the wind chill. I'm noit used to this kind of cold. It will take a couple of years to really get used to this. After all I have spent that last two years (winters) Pregnant..That really adds a lot of body heat! Other than the cold it truly is a great day. You know why. God has provided me with a home and heat and food. There are many people who will be suffering tonight and this next week far worse than I can ever understand. It's amazing how much we complain when we have major blessings and needs met. Can you think of some creative ways to help warm another person this week in the freeing temperatures. Let me know.
