Thanksful Thursday-Wetness

If you did not read Tuesdays post thenyou don't know that we had a bit of a tragedy when we returned home from being a away for two weeks on vacation. We had a flood the last week we were gone.

Not just a small flood eithr....Our automatic Ice maker in our freezer has a flexi tube that runs into the floor behind the fridge. Apparently due to Vibration it rubbed a hole right into the flexi tube and we had a CONSTANT stream of water for who knows how long.

So there was an inch and a half of water in the kitchen and most of the water had run down through the floor/ basement ceilieng...Soaked the basement floor , bubbled brand new 4 month old paint on the walls, broke some drop tiles in the basement bathroon and the floor literally squished when you walked on it!

Not to mention the musty smell that ad over taken the whole house!

But through all of this I have fuound quite a few things to be thankful for: So here they are in no particular order
  • Hubby wasn't away by himself when it happened and I was left home alone to deal with all the mess
  • it wasn't a fire! What a tragedy that would have been to get a call or come home to no house or any of our stuff which leads me to..
  • we only lost one thing and we were trying to decided whether or not to get ride of it anyway!
  • It wasn't that wya for the two full weeks...we would have had serious mold problem and much much more work to do on the house
  • that the carpets are mostly dry now in the basement and all the wet in the ceiling has been removed
  • That it wasn't sewage in our basement...two pastors ago a problem with town sewer caused sewage to back up into the parsonage and well it wasn't pretty and the pastor's family had to vacate the house for a while since the smell was so bad!
  • No one was hurt
  • it's an easy fix
So what makes you thankful?

Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
Absence yet again...But this time it was out of a lack of internet connection...We were on Vacation..MOSTLY. Hubby was taking a class out in Detroit Michigan and the kids and I were camping in a camper THANKFULLY. However the surprise we came home to nearly washed us all away.

Almost literally . Sometime during our last week away our Freezer sprung a leak...actually it is the water tube running to the ice machine in the freezer. Can you say water water everywhere. So as I planned on blogging about our trip when we returned home on Friday Well as you guessed NEVER happened...Hmmm I wonder why.

Luckily none of our stuff was ruined and we are in the process of drying out. The floor is nearly there...But the insulation in the ceiling is soaked yet and need s to literally be Popped! LOL. That will be done this evening and then they will pull out the insulation and let the ceiling dry out. As you can guess unitl everything dries out I have a needless to say disheveled basement that does not smell very pretty. I must say it is better that what happened two pastors ago when sewage back up into the basem,ent...That was a Lovely experience for all I am told!

Anywho despite all of this I have a few things that need to be accoumplished today. They are..

  1. charge batteries for camera so I can take pictures!
  2. vug has his evaluation this morning at nine
  3. shower
  4. Finish wasking the last two loads of Laundry
  5. Organize the boys bedroom closet
  6. Have the Trustee and his fam,ily come for dinner and work on the basement ceiling
  7. oh and have hubby and older tewo kids shop for groceries while Vug has his Eval
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

My Walk Modays

MyWalkMonday2WeWalkwithHim2

Wow It has a been a while since I have done this...and it used to be at a different Blog But life is different now!

In case you didn't get the memo we moved and started at a church as it's Senior Pastor Three months ago today! And what a Joy it has been. One of the blessings I have had is being a aprt of a Ladies Sunday School class where we have been Working through Beth Moore's Believing God Series!. It has been a true challenge!

This mornign I was working on Day one Of session three. It is all focused On Believing God can do what He says He will do.

Her main point is that God from the very beginning has done Miracles! Miracles is what God does to show his glory! Among other things. However if you think about even the simplest of things like answered prayer IS a miracle. That's what God does.

I hav sat under the preaching of a pastor who had the audacity to say that God NO LONGER perdormed miracles today. I TOTALLy disagree. Why? Because I have experienced a REAL LIFE Miracle!

When i was in college..My freshamn year to be exact I was at our regional tournament for Basket ball...(ahem I was a cheerleader) We were leaving what was now Philadelphia Biblical University when all of a sudden in Allentown PA we all decided we wanted Ice cream. It was about 11 AM and we stopped off for some food!

Well within minutes something happened. Our school 15 passenger van burst into flames. Miraculously No one was in it. Another five miles down the road and it could been a HUGE catastrophy. As people started tryign to convince us that our van was REALLy on fire we ran to see all of our stuff ablaze.....BUT ALL of our stuff wwas sitting inte parking lot....None of it touched by flames and not even a hint slelled of smoke!

We began to ask who saved LAL of our stuff ? No one knew No one saw anything....Even a paper award that sat on the dash board of one of the players sat unscathed on top of all the bags and pillows.

As we watched the firemen trying to get the flames under control Stunned by all that had happened we each knew that something special had happened!
Now what you may try to explain away you can't. You weren't there. You didn't experience it. I am not one of those emotional people who overspiritualixe Every little thing. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that I along with teammates experienced something that not many poeple do. A HUGE miracle.
Not just one BUT two.

If you are one of those people who Believes miracles are not performed by God today i challenge you to talk to a missionary . Ask them if they have see a miracle. Something so amazing it takes your breath away. I have heard many stories! I know Miracles still happen today...Just imagine what would happen if you really start to BELIEVE that God can do what He says He will do!
